New
customers often ask our advice regarding when it is best to bring
Dakota into the new product development cycle. In most cases, bringing
Dakota's resources into the process at an early stage works best.
Whether the mission is to transform a concept into a workable P&ID,
or to help a customer through any subsequent process including the
preparation that goes into an engineering concept review, modeling
or a prototype build, Dakota has the experience and engineering horsepower
to make a notable contribution. Frequently, our expertise relative
to both domestic as well as international regulatory and conformance
requirements play an important and cost-effective role when considered
early in a product's development.

Manufacturing Engineering
Manufacturing
Engineers ensure the integrity of each and every work order package
being handed off to production. This involves ensuring that each
drawing includes sufficient build detail and that the revision
to be built is in accordance with the customer's order. If the
drawing is Dakota generated, any discrepancy is reported in writing
to the respective Dakota Design/Project Engineer. If it is a customer
generated drawing, the customer is notified of problem and is requested
to advise on the corrective action. Once a corrective action is
taken, Manufacturing Engineering reviews and approves. This review
includes, but is not limited to, ensuring that all associated drawing
revision control protocols have been adhered to and that all the
other documents that will accompany the work order are current
and correct. These other documents may include part certifications
as well as custom build and/or compliance test instructions.
